During the sacrament of Confirmation the grace that a Christian received at Baptism is completed and the person is called to become a soldier for Christ - taking His message to all people. The Holy Spirit comes down upon the person being Confirmed and gives the gifts of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord. These gifts are meant to strengthen us for the rest of our faith journey.
